Comcast price goes up, Sonic.net DirecTV price goes down
October 16, 2009 – 3:13 pm
With news about Comcast’s fall rate hikes, (PressDemocrat: Comcast raises rates again: 43 percent since ‘03) I’m really pleased to announce that Sonic.net DirecTV new customer pricing has just dropped by $5 monthly.
With introductory pricing and our $10/mo broadband bundle, you can get into a Sonic.net DirecTV package for only $19.99/mo now! That includes free HD or a free DVR (digital video recorder.)
Compare this to your last Comcast bill! With our fall DirecTV package, you save $36 per month for 12 months then save $10 per month for the next 6 months (regularly $55.99/mo.)
Big the big win is really our installation and customer service. You probably know how amazing our technical support group is, and our Sonic.net DirecTV installers are just as dedicated. Here’s some great comments I got last week from a customer, Claudia Fiori:
The reason I am writing is because we had the pleasure of having Karl install our DIRECTV the other day. He was amazingly knowledgeable, warm, friendly, professional, and most of all skilled and did a quality, top-notch installation. I only wish I had left Comcast when Sonic first became involved with DIRECTV. Oh well, better late than never. Anyway, I wanted you to know what a great employee you have in Karl, and maybe the next time you see him, you can give him a kind word from me.
My warmest regards,
Claudia Fiori
We’ve got a break in the rain, so now is a great time to make the switch. Click on Sonic.net DirecTV to get started!
P.s.: Thank you Karl!

I wish I could sign up for Direct TV with you. However, I’m already signed up with Direct TV. If there’s a way for me to do it, I would.

Since I already had both sonic and DirecTV, and it seems this offer does not apply to current subscribers (which is a rotten policy, btw), what is the point of sending me the emails? It just makes me feel bad that I cannot save the extra money.

Oh, no! Just 2 days ago I signed up for Direct TV but haven’t had it installed yet. Do you think I might be eligible????

These offers are so friggin complicated! As bad as any credit card contract. I have no idea what this would really cost for 4 TV’s with HD.
I’m a Sonic.net customer, but I’ll pass, thanks.
Offer ends 2/8/10 and is based on approved credit; credit card required. Price reflects a $10 bill credit per month for 18 months (Sonic.net Internet access bundle required for 18 month duration), plus a $21 bill credit per month for 12 months after online or mail-in rebate, plus an additional $5 bill credit per month for 12 months when you enroll in Auto Bill Pay program and provide a valid email address for the latest news and special offers from DIRECTV. New customers only (Lease required. Must maintain programming, DVR Service and/or HD Access). Lease fee $5.00/mo. for 2nd and each additional receiver. See offer details.
*Eligibility based on service address.

Does Sonic deliver Direct TV through a cable or do I need a satellite dish?
Id love to get Direct Tv but trees block our view of the southern sky- so that a satellite dish wont work for us
By Lew on Nov 30, 2009
Lew,
Yes, our Sonic.net DirecTV product is a satellite delivered television product, so you do need to be able to see the sky. Sorry!
