Denial of Service Attack
April 17, 2009 – 3:22 pm by jaredAt approximately 3PM today a DoS attack was aimed at one of our Business-T customers. The attack saturated the uplinks of one of our customer aggregation routers, causing 5-10 minutes of service interruption to customers served by that router. The DoS attack has been blocked at our network edge.

What was the nature of the DoS attack?

The DoS consisted of massive amounts of tiny UDP packets. This tends to be the typical type of Do these days, as saturating uplinks is more difficult, so they opt for saturating CPUs instead.
