Sonic.net bucking the data cap trend

The San Francisco Chronicle reports on Sonic.net’s aggressive anti-data-cap stance, saying that “The offerings beg the obvious question: If a small regional Internet service provider thinks it can profitably deliver such services, what’s stopping its huge, high-margin rivals? …in a market brimming with Internet power users, Sonic’s increasingly differentiated products seem to be catching on.” You can read the full article here.

Well, so much for that! Sonic.net is now officially capping home broadband. My household uses our broadband connection for web browsing and to stream Netflix, Hulu Plus, and Youtube, so you would think our connection would work just fine, but we just got hit with a “first strike” warning that we had exceeded the 150GB cap on our “unlimited” broadband account. If we get two more of these over subsequent months, we will be charged for the “overage.” “Aggressive anti-data-cap, my foot!!!

I think you may be mixing Sonic.net up with Suddenlink. You appear to be their customer, not ours..?
